HAPPY NEW YEAR A Message To Those Suffering

new year fireworks
This is for all of those people out there reading who perhaps struggled in 2013. For those who have not had all the stars lined up for them. For everyone who is suffering from depression, anxiety, feelings of failure, heart-ache and pain.
To me you are such a valuable member of society. To me this world would be a very empty place if you were not here. So even though you struggled, even though it hurt, and sometimes damn hard, you are still here and I for one am glad. I may not know you personally but if you are in this world you are gift to this world, regardless of how you feel about yourself right now.
You did not come into life broken, you did not come into life needing to be fixed. Your pain, your hurt, your fear, your sorrow are all part of the journey.
Everything changes, nothing remains the same, change is the one thing that can be guaranteed.

So in 2014 instead of fighting against who you are, attempting to create or be a perfect person, embrace yourself, all of you – warts and all. Your flaws are tremendously wonderful jewels, once they are acknowledged and embraced.

Take time to forgive the part of you that does not feel good enough.

Take time to acknowledge any personality quirks that may not match your high expectations.

Know that you are a human-being and many many countless others are feeling exactly the same as you do right now and thinking they are less than perfect because they are not able to hold it all together.

Give yourself permission to be where you are now, and know that grace will find a way to support you.

Your journey is as valid as anyone else’s. From the street sweeper, toilet cleaner, to the top corporate sales executive. Everyone has a part to play.

Comparing who you are and how you feel right now does you no justice. For most of us compare our down-times with someone else’s highlight reel anyway. And not everyone is showing what is really taking place on the surface, the mask people wear does not always show what is going on beneath it.

Take heart dear one, you are not alone. And I believe in you.

I believe in your ability to see a glimmer of hope, a twinkle of change, no matter how small. Just be open and try not to have expectations of where your journey will take you.

Blessings to you all for 2014

“Life is simple. Everything happens for you, not to you. Everything happens at exactly the right moment, neither too soon nor too late. You don’t have to like it… it’s just easier if you do.”

― Byron Katie

Resisting against what is simply perpetuates suffering,
when we ‘accept’ , freedom is ours.

“Freedom is instantaneous the moment we accept things as they are.”

― Karen Maezen Miller

Taking care of our inner garden becomes so important as our life
unfolds and flowers, this brings harmony to life.
Thich Nhat Hanh expresses this beautifully

“Inside every one of us is a garden, and each practitioner has to go back and take care of it. Maybe in the past, you left it unattended for a long time. You should know exactly what is going on in your own garden and try to put everything in order. Restore the beauty; restore the harmony in your garden. Many people will enjoy your garden if it is well tended.”

~ Thích Nhất Hạnh

Green Fields In Ireland Dan Millman quote
Using force to change our lives simply does not work, we need to allow the seasons of our lives to flow through us and happen in their own good time as Dan Millman says.

“The seasons do not push one another; neither do clouds race the wind across the sky. All things happen in their own good time.”

― Dan Millman

Even through lifes challenges, we can look back and realise
how everything has helped us heal, grow and learn.

“Regardless of how hard, challenging, frightening, or difficult an experience may seem, everything is just as it needs to be in order for us to heal, grow and learn.”

~Iyanla Vanzant

Instead of rushing to make things happen, taking time to be present, enjoy the moment and trust you are where you are meant to be, as Jackson Kiddard
shares here, so valid on the spiritual journey.

Let life unfold day by day. Do not rush into doing that isn’t necessary. Trust that where your feet are is where they are supposed to be and walk into this day with a positive expectation – who knows what lies ahead for you.

~Jackson Kiddard

You are so much more than you think you are.

I am not the person who is singing, I am the silent one inside…
I am not my house, my car, my songs
They are only stops along the way….

~Paula Cole

Lao Tzu states it so clearly, it is our resistance that
creates sorrow and when we let life flow grace steps in.

Life is a series of natural and spontaenous changes.Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality.Let things flow naturally in whatever way they like.

~Lao Tzu

Iyanla Vanzant captures the flow of the Tao, the nature of Yin & Yang,
that life situations come and go so effortlessly

No matter what is going on in your life today, remember, it is only preparation. People come and go; situations rise and fall; it’s all preparation for better things. You must stretch, reach, grow into your goodness. Without the preparation we receive through adversity, disappointment, confusion, or pain, we could not appreciate the goodness when it arrives.

~ Iyanla Vanzant

Feeling financially strapped or lacking in money does
not mean your heart isn’t abundant and your

life can’t feel prosperous because it can and is.

Not having money to spend doesn’t mean we cannot have well-spent moments every day.
