Review: Le Belle Natural Oil Cleanser & Hydrating Toner (Competition Ended)

APOLOGIES FOR MISSING IMAGES – host transferral resulted in older posts losing images

A little while ago I reviewed some beautiful Le Belle products I use, and I decided to ask the owner of Le Belle if they would like to be part of my ’12 days of Christmas give-away’. Victoria graciously agreed and I was blessed to experience a new formulation of a product I had yet to try as they re-launch their range, and Victoria offered a lovely moisturiser and cleanser for one lucky winner.

Le Belle believes in luxury skincare that is not only natural and organic, but also supports the environment by using fully recyclable glass packaging, which is also refillable, so nothing is wasted. They sell a range of beauty products including moisturisers, cleansers, body lotions, eye serums and masks (see HERE for the thorough review I did earlier in the year).

Instead of covering the products in fancy box packaging, they chose to use recycled glass for their containers and bottles, and put the additional resources they save from packaging into high quality ingredients. They also encourage refilling some of the products they sell, which further adds to the ecological value of this brand and something I absolutely adore.

Natural Oil Cleanser

For this review I got to try an oil cleanser. I had never even thought of an oil as a cleanser before. I mainly cleanse with a milk cleanser. After talking to Victoria about my skincare needs (rosacea, sensitive) she recommended I try the oil cleanser.

The key ingredients are:

  • Camellia Oil (organic and cold pressed) – removes make up and impurities that lie deep in the pores and leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturised. Contains Vitamins A, D, E, K and polyphenols, natural antioxidants that safeguard the skin from the damaging effects of UV exposure and free radicals
  • Jojoba Oil (organic and cold pressed) – works as an emulsifier to unclog pores. Gives excellent protection to the skin, which stops trans-epidermal water loss.
  • Thistle Oil (organic and cold pressed) – an excellent source of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids (vitamin F). Helps to reduce the size of pores and helps to rebalance the skin.
  • Hazelnut Oil (organic) – helps to rebalance oily and combination skin to a more normal skin type
  • Vitamin E & Essential Oils of Ylang Ylang, Palmarosa, Geranium, Lemon, Rosewood

What’s It Like?

Like the other products I have tried from Le Belle this comes in a beautiful frosted, recycled glass bottle. It has an easy-to-press pump for easy release of the oil. I loved the fact that I only need to press this once as less is more when it comes to an oil cleanser I discovered.

After a fully make-upped day, I decided to try it on my skin. It removed my mineral make-up beautifully and smelled heavenly. Instead of roughing up my skin, it took a simple warming of the oil in my hands, applying it to my face and massaging it into my skin in a circular motion . Once fully absorbed, I then warmed a face cloth with water and pressed it against my skin. Could it be this simple to remove make-up? It appears so.

Once I had removed all my make-up, pretty easily for a change, I liked the fact my skin still felt moisturised; it had not dried out at all like many cleansers tend to do to my skin. I loved the combination of ingredients in this cleanser. They really soothed my skin after make-up removal.

Hydrating Toner

The ingredients include:

Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Citrus Aurantium Amara Flower Water.

I love this toner. So gentle. I reviewed it HERE a little while back.

“Firstly, it is alcohol free. When I was younger, I used toners containing alcohol and they simply dried my skin out and did not smell very nice.

It is beautifully gentle and great for removing make-up and toning up my skin. It is also hydrating which really helps support my skin unlike my toners of the past.”

This is a beautiful floral toner that soothes, tones and brightens the skin and it really does make your skin feel refreshed and  hydrated. It is perfect for removing any left over cleanser too. I hope you like it as much as I do, whoever wins this competition.  Like the oil cleanser this also comes in their gorgeous frosted glass bottles. Something about these bottles just makes me feel really luxurious and my bathroom looks fab too (smile).

  66. December 14, 2013 / 7:18 pm

Most difficult is finding natural products. What I would like to be easier is to find out about product ingredients as many products say natural on the label when they are anything but.

  72. December 15, 2013 / 2:42 am

Finding anti-ageing products that actually work is the hardest thing, I've tried so many. I would love it if more samples were available, to see which ones worked on my skin, just to save wasting money.

  73. December 15, 2013 / 7:14 am

I love Oil Cleansing Method, I first started using olive oil and castor oil but currently use either grapeseed oil in the UK or coconut oil when I'm in the US, it'd be interesting to how a commercial oil mix works out – I'm astonished more mainstream companies haven't brought out oil cleansers given their popularity and increased acceptance of oils in beauty.

As much as I love OCM my skin still get clogged-up (not nearly as bad as when using soaps or washes, anything but OCM causes major break-outs, amongst other problems), but exfoliation normally involves using some sort of wash that makes my skin worse. I have a facial brush but my skin still feels clogged…I'd love something that actually lifts the junk out of my pores more effectively (peeling masks don't do the job either).

  74. December 15, 2013 / 7:54 am
