The Beauty Of Okay

“There is no external source of our suffering, pain, pleasure and happiness. Our experiences of the good, the bad and the ugly are the creations of our minds.”

– Dzogche Ponlop Rinpoche

Sometimes I find it easy to be with myself, sometimes I don’t.

Sometimes the sunshine, beautiful landscape invigorates me, sometimes it doesn’t.

Will there ever become a time when the landscape, the beauty of the day consistently pleases me in more ways than one?

Perhaps not. And maybe, just maybe the power of  “It’s Okay” becomes a saving grace.

Perhaps the day will come when I judge not one day better or worse than another and simply explore the awareness that each and every day its own unique vision to share.

It’s only my resistance, through mental labelling, that makes me judge my day to be good or bad based on how I interpret my own feelings.

It’s only resistance after all. And it’s all okay.

“The most profound way to relate to the realm of our emotions and the entire universe is to simply experience each moment as it is without concepts and labels.”

-Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche

How does dualistic thinking affect you?

How easy do you find non-labelling of moods, emotions and days?

    Hi Kelly,

thanks for popping by my blog the other day and I am so sorry it's taken so long to pop by yours, I just seem to be taking a lot longer to do things these days (I blame being totally obsessed with the little wriggler growing inside of me to truly focus on anything enough to get things done!!)

It's great to catch up with you again, I cannot believe how long has passed… and look at how your blog has grown in that time 🙂

I can't answer your question on duality right now as it completely fried my brain thinking about it. Seriously, I tried to consider it and my mind just went blank so I think I will return to it at another time when I'm ready to face the question.

I generally post links to other blogs on a dedicated page on my site rather than a long blogroll in the sidebar, but I do have a select few sites I link to and would be happy to pop yours in if you send me a photo you'd like to make the button for your link (either 153×108 pixels if you can or one that I can crop to that size easily).

Take care and I'm looking forward to following your thoughts now I have your blog link again xx

When I read this post I was getting ready to leave Rome. It made me reflect on my experience being alone.

"Sometimes I find it easy to be with myself, sometimes I don't. Sometimes the sunshine, beautiful landscape invigorates me, sometimes it doesn't."

That basically summarizes my trip. Some days were easier than others. Some days I wanted to go home and on others I enjoyed myself.

I label everything. I characterize everything. I can be carefree for a day or two then I'm back to my old ways.

Hi Julia, I totally get you, I am processing this a lot right now too. Labelling life. It's time to drop the labels, piece by piece.

    Big hugs
    Kelly xxx
